- Carolyn Martin -

Carolyn lives in Moranbah, Central Queensland and works full-time for a global Mining company.   She “discovered” the joys of jewellery creation in December 2004 along with her sister Kathleen.  The mainstay of her early designs were wireworked and strung beaded pieces.  Carolyn’s designs later evolved into more complex wireworked pieces using precious metal wires.   One of her specialties is creating Chain Maille bracelets and necklaces – each ring is handmade from wire and then individually linked by Carolyn into various chain maille styles.

In April 2005 she ventured into the world of flame working glass and started creating her own Art Glass Beads (Lampwork Beads).   These miniature artworks can be found in many of the exclusive Katzeye Jewellery pieces made by Carolyn and her sisters.  She also sells her beads as Focal beads and Sets on the internet under the label of “Katzeye Kreations”.

Currently her jewellery designs predominantly showcase her own handmade Art Glass Beads, Swarovski Crystals, Freshwater and Glass Pearls, Sterling Silver, Vermeil and Rolled Gold wire and findings.

Katzeye Jewellery is the result of the collective creative input of three sisters,  Diana Stevens, Kathleen Moon and Carolyn Martin, all with a passion for wirework and beading...

- Kathleen Moon -

Kathleen lives in Mackay and is the creative catalyst for the Katzeye Jewellery sisters.  She tackles any design challenge with great exuberance.  She has spent a lot of time over the years exploring many types of artistic and crafty projects and was swept away by the beauty of beads in December 2004 along with her sister Carolyn.

Making jewellery has also provided outlets for her other interests such as photography, creative writing, graphic design, and use of colour and texture.   The other aspects of this art form that Kathleen enjoys and excels at, are the one on one consultations with customers to design custom made pieces and jewellery designs for weddings and special events.

She is greatly inspired by the beautiful Art Glass Beads made by her sister Carolyn.  Many of  Kathleen’s stunning, one of a kind creations are designed to capture the essence and originality of each individual handmade bead.

Kathleen is constantly on the look out for beads with interesting texture and colour, to compliment her extensive range.  She likes to work with Freshwater Pearls in various shapes, Mother of Pearl and Fire Polished Czech Glass.

Jewellery design not only enables Kathleen to express her love of colour and artistic ability but is also used by her as an educational and creative tool for her children.  This helps them to broaden their perception and to think creatively.
